Julian Shu-Yen Liu, MA - Therapeutic Eurythmy

Julian Liu was born and raised in Taiwan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Taiwan, and worked in finance related industry in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Becoming a mother shifted her life completely. In order to help her children cope with developmental challenges, she gave up her career and started to learn about child development and education. In the process of searching for a suitable form of education for her children, she encountered Waldorf education, anthroposophy, and eventually eurythmy therapy.

In 2014, Julian moved her family from Taiwan to Spring Valley, NY, to train as a eurythmist. After finishing her eurythmy training in 2019, she enrolled in eurythmy therapy training in the UK. She started to work with patients for therapeutic eurythmy sessions under the supervision of mentors first at the Threefold Community in Spring Valley, NY, then Sungate Educational Community in PA and a few Waldorf communities in Taiwan. In 2024, she completed her training with a Master of Arts in Eurythmy Therapy by Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences, and a diploma as Eurythmy Therapist by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum. While continuing her work at Sungate as a eurythmy teacher and therapist, Julian now also offers therapeutic eurythmy at Carah Medical Arts.

Through this movement therapy, Julian wishes to assist her patients to find their own harmony on the physiological and psychological levels and to stimulate self-healing forces within themselves. In addition, she promotes eurythmy therapy through introductory workshops. She currently lives in Kennett Square, PA with her husband, two sons and a dog. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hand work and spending time with her family.
